Disintegration
A delicious cast in place method or raw pour as I like to call it! Meaning this piece was cast in Delft clay having placed this stunning red ruby stone inside the mould before pouring molten recycled 925 silver around it! I love this process as it shows just how hard and resilient this stone truly is!! I also love the fact that it is quite unpredictable in that you never know exactly what the outcome of this process will be!
Here I was able to achieve a pour where the stone is held in place by gorgeously textured metal. Intentional by design the textured top mellows out forming a smooth band around the focal point - the fierce red heart.
My hand crafted process remains obvious on the inside of the band where marks and imperfections are left.
This ring is a work of art, a piece to be admired and worn confidently.
