Banquet
A delicious cast in place method or raw pour as I like to call it! Meaning this piece was cast in Delft clay having placed all three sapphires inside the mould before pouring molten recycled 925 silver around it! I love this process as it shows just how hard and resilient these stones truly are!! I also love the fact that it is quite unpredictable in that you never know exactly what the outcome of this process will be! I originally placed 7 sapphires in this piece but during the casting process on 3 were held in tightly enough by the silver!
Here I was able to achieve a pour where the remaining stones are held in place by gorgeously textured metal. It features orange, pink and green natural sapphires. Intentional by design the textured top mellows out forming a smooth band.
My hand crafted process remains obvious on the inside of the band and toward the back of the ring, where marks and imperfections are left.
It is a Size 8.5
